As part of Member participation in QHS, you are invited to participate in live chats with other Members via QHS’s private Members-only Telegram channel. Here, you interact with other Members and view important and timely information posted by Admin.
First, create your Telegram Account if you do not already have one.
Download the Telegram App
1. There are two ways that you can download the Telegram App.
- You can download the App from the Telegram website at: https://telegram.org/
- Download from your device App store.
2. Follow the instructions on the Website or App.
3. If you see a QR Code, follow the instructions.
A "Telegram Handle" is your username on the Telegram messaging app. It allows other users to find and contact you without needing your phone number. Below is a video on how To Create a Telegram Handle.
Your Telegram Handle, or username, is DIFFERENT from your display name. Your display name can be anything; you can change it whenever you want. However, your Telegram handle/username is unique. There can only be one user with any given username, unless you pay money for a specialized name that someone may have already taken, such as a business might do for a trademarked name.
A Telegram user with a handle can be found without giving strangers their cell phone number. This is a safety feature built into Telegram. Someone can find you if you provide them with your Telegram "@" username, but better they find a fictitious or anonymous name than your actual phone number. There are a lot of scammers out there.
** Please change your handle and/or display name to hide your true identity for safety and security while using social media platforms.
You are now ready to sign-up for the QHS Telegram rooms.
1. Sign in to your QHS account
2. Add your Telegram handle into your account, under Settings. Click submit to save the change
3. Click on “Community Resources” on the top menu.
4. Click on “Telegram” from the dropdown menu.
5. Scroll down the page until you see the TELEGRAM logo.
Click on “Members Only Chat” is for Members to actively chat with other QHS Members.
6. Once in QHS private Telegram channels, click JOIN at the bottom of the page.
- Click MUTE if you prefer not to hear the constant pings of chatter from thousands.
- All Members will be verified, via a direct message from a Moderator, to verify their QHS email.
- Once accepted, you may enter QHS chats directly from Telegram.
